This is one of those philosophical questions intended to make you think about many different scenarios. We will assume that World and Earth are essentially the same word for most of this answer...
ScientificIn theory - Yes - an individual (as hinted by the "you" in the question) could - if they had a big enough destructive force - like a large enough nuclear bomb. But that is if we say "world" means the actual planet. Although "the world" could also mean the infrastructure that exists on the world - essentially human life and civilization - could be destroyed much easier (see fantasy) through disease or war or famine.The environmental aspect of the question is the main issue. If we carry on as a species - polluting the Earth and consuming finite limited resources - then we will one day "destroy the world". We need to learn different ways of existing. Mankind no longer lives in the world the same way that they used to do thousands of years ago. We consume many more resources compared to what we did. America is the greatest consumer of all - and on average (according to Sir David Attenborough in a 2009 program) consuming around seven times more per person than the average person in India or Africa. The ground is almost completely covered in farming space in order to feed us. This means there is not enough of the natural ecosystem left to sustain the world as we know it.
FantasyThere are many ways to destroy the world. One is to build a nanite / collection of nanobots (tiny robots built very small) and have it build more of itself then have some of them build robo dragon flies. the hypodermic needles in the robo dragon flies tails will be filled with nanites or a deadly disease then the dragon flies will use their tails to inject people with them. if it is nanites they will cause massiv damage to all organs and blood veins. if it's a deadly disease they will be infected and die unless they are cured.
