One can argue the present day Republican party owes a good deal to Alexander Hamilton, basically conservative, big on defense- strong courts, strong central govt... like Modern Republicans ( Hamilton called his party the Federalists) Democrats traditionally more broad populace, Man-in-The steet orientation, are or were reluctant to hike taxes, etc. The odd thing is the Democrats have been known to start more Us Involvement in Wars than the allegedly pro-defense Republicans. so it goes. Then there are Rebel or Hate parties such as Communists, American Nazis , Bundists, etc.

There are Communist parties, which claim to want to build a communist system eventually. There are no parties with the name capitalist, because we currently live in a capitalist society. Basically, all political parties are capitalist - they are all parties of capitalism.
