In other words, the general term adenopathy can be any one of dozens of diseases that involve the glands, the endocrine system of the body. The term thyroiditis is more specific and there are several things that can cause that to happen. Most commonly it is because of hypothyroidism, but it can be from hyperthyroidism as well, and may lead into the development of a goiter, unless treated by a doctor.
