Islam has tight-as-a-drum attitude and practice towards sexual vices in general, as in Biblical days, prostitution and related offenses are a capital crime in some Islamic countries. Lesbianism is rare and might be also considered a life-threatening vice (by the authorities.) An Imam is a sort of Islamic Judge/official and also a minister. Like many religions, they don't tolerate sexual variation.

Not specifically. While it is a sin for a man to dress as a woman or a woman as a man, transsexualism is more like a medical condition. A transsexual woman would say she is not a man and therefore not cross-dressing. A transsexual woman (after surgery) is just as capable as other women of following Sharia Law. They would still have to wear a head scarf, be obedient to their husbands, and so on.

In Iran, it is legal to get sex-reassignment surgery, but transgenderism (unrelated to genuine transsexualism) and gayness are banned. The surgery is even subsidized, and those coming out as transsexuals must get the surgery within a year. Not getting the surgery is not an option, and you cannot be openly transgendered nor "gender queer." Transsexual persons tend to get treated better in places where cross-dressing, transgenderism, and gayness are banned, but where gender correction is legal.
