Yes! The durration of your exersize program is more important than the distance. One shoud "work out" 30 to 45 minutes everyday. Exersize is the key to a healthy lifestyle. What will really cause you to loose weight is expending more calories than you take in. It is iportant that you know your calorie range. For instance with my activity level (which isn't much) I should stay between 1200 and 1600 calories per day.
I personally have lost 60 pounds by walking 2-3 miles per day. I have done it by doing three things. Eat less, like half of what I use to. Eat well, as in healthier. Move more, making a conserted effort to move every chance I have.
