If the amount of food you eat does not change, YES, you will shed pounds. Don't expect it to happen overnight. As you loose fat, you are also building muscle. You'll begin to see more of a difference in yourself than on the scale. THEN you'll notice the pounds begin dropping.........and dropping........and dropping.
Probably not as walking isn't a very intense exercise if you ran two miles every morning im pretty sure you would. still walking is better than no exercise
Another Answer:Any form of exercise that you add to your routine will help toward weight loss. If you're burning more calories than you're consuming, you'll lose weight. A "Brisk" walk, or "power walk" (whatever you want to call it) can give you the little edge to help lose weight. Whatever you do, do something. Walking at a good pace can be beneficial in a weight loss program, but make sure you also cut calories. Sometimes all you need to do is reduce the fat intake of your diet and go for your walks. There's really no telling, it's all down to what you're eating and how hard you're walking.

But with a controlled diet and exercise, it's possible to lose 1-3 pounds/week w/o any health concerns.
It is good exercise- but NO exercise burns only fat. Sorry-

Just walking on the tread mill isn't everything. If you eat poorlly then it wont do much. But if you couple that with small meals throughout the day (like 250 calories with high protein and low fat 4-5 meals per day) then you could burn alot of fat and lose a bunch of weight.
It is possible to lose about two pounds or more a week by walking for one hour a day. Losing weight also depends on the types of foods that are eaten and what a person does when they are not out walking. A ten to fifteen pound loss is about average for this type of exercise.
One day, just to show one of my clients how much weight we typically 'gain' or 'lose' throughout the day, I weighed myself on the hour, every hour.

Not a day. It will take about 1-2 weeks to lose weight, and then you need to be diciplined. Drink water - about a cup an hour to stop mass dehydration and exercise at the same time and then you should lose quite a bit of weight - in 2 weeks you can lose up to 15 lbs.
You will lose weight but you could also become extremely unhealthy. It is better to gradually lose weight with a restricted calorie diet but with some balance.
