If you're talking about a instant, dried yeast, like the kind you'd use for home bread baking, then the Answer is no, it can't hurt you to eat it. If you can tolerate the taste, then go right ahead. It would actually be fairly nutritious and high in Complex vitamins, and some vitamin E and C, too.

Brewer's yeast, the dietary supplement, is simply yeast that's been compressed with some kind of filler/binder (like starch) into a pill, to make it easy to swallow without having to taste it.
It's just fungus. If allowed to ferment it would create alcohol though, but it is harmless otherwise.

Ok, let me qualify my answer a little here. There are lots of different variety of yeasts. A couple of species can cause infections by someone with a compromised immune system (if they had AIDS for example). There of couse is also vaginal yeast infections, but you said eating the yeast. Besides, getting a hold of yeast to eat usually means some sort of bakers or brewers yeast, not the kind of yeast which causes infections in humans of any sort.
It's just fungus. If allowed to ferment it would create alcohol though, but it is harmless otherwise.

Reckon you need to get yourself along to a health clinic or understanding female Doctor Who will allay all your fears by taking a swab and sending it away for tests. This is a painless procedure that is helpful to pinpoint what kind of treatment is required. As far as if it's bad, it might be itchy and uncomfortable and best to get onto treatment. Canasten cream can help and as far as I know you don't need a prescription for that, you can just buy it over the counter at your pharmacy/drugstore. Don't be afraid to go and get it sorted. It can be cleared up! All the best.

Yeasts in themselves aren't bad; they occur naturally within the human body and help to main microbial balance. However, if a yeast such as Candida albicans over proliferates to the extent that it would be deemed an infection, it can be detrimental. The most common yeast infection is thrush. There is research to indicate that severe infection with Candida may lead to other illnesses, although this is yet to be conclusively proved. The report can be read by clicking the link below.

You can obtain the cure for a yeast infection over the counter or by prescription. Still, you can be re-infected by your partner or by not killing the germs when you wash your underwear. Eating yogurt may help re-establish enzymes, but would do not be a particular cure for the infection.

Normally no. It would take years for a candida (yeast) infection to grow to a point where it was deadly on it's own.

However, a yeast infection is a massive bacteria infection. If it is completely ignored and allowed to spread to ridiculous levels it can eventually cause other health risks; and in theory if a person were already in ill health these additional complications could turn deadly.

Also in someone with a weakened immune system, any bacterial infection can be life threatening.

In an otherwise healthy adult the biggest risks of an untreated yeast infection are if it goes systemic (spreads inside the body) or is allowed to enter the bloodstream (either through growth or an open wound).

Once it has gone systemic it can cause joint pain (often confused with Arthritis). It can also affect the liver, weakening it and causing rashes. It can also affect the kidneys leading to poor kidney function. In the nervous system it can cause Back pain and muscle pain.

Once inside the blood stream it can infect anywhere in the body leading to a massive variety of unexplainable pains and various organ stress. There is a very long list of ailments that can be caused by infections once they spread like this including leg cramps, headaches, body stiffness, it can also lead to sickness, colds and flu in other parts of the body (as the immune system is already overwhelmed).

It also severely depletes the body of it's nutritional needs leading to abnormally low calcium and iron among other things.

This is just a small portion of the potential side effects of an untreated yeast infection if it goes systemic. So while it may not be deadly by itself, the havoc it can bring to the rest of the body could potentially become deadly if the other organs infected fail under the stress.

Some are, some are not, some are quite beneficial. Because fungi are the most prevalent and common life form on the planet, a more detailed answer would be difficult.

Is it bad to continuously have yeast infections after your period?

Yes, it's bad to have yeast infections at any time. During menstruation you may be at higher risk of certain infections because normally your vagina is acidic to kill off harmful flora, but blood effects vaginal pH so make it less acidic and more favorable to harmful flora.
