It is a good idea to have lots of different religions living together in one place?

There is nothing bad for people with the different religion to live together in one place if they don't debate over their religion or make a very big issue about it. I'm pretty sure these people living together would understand that they have different beliefs. Though, if they can't resist the temptation to fight over it, it's time for them yo live in different places. Though, diverse religions should never stop their friendship. "Unity in Diversity" as it is called; Respect is very important among them.

It is good if religions followers understand that all religions call to the same morals which is important for people to deal with each other and differ only on the ritual worships that are specific for each religion and is the part of religion that is valid only between the religion follower and His/her God.
Per Islam religion teachings, it is the will of God to have people of different faiths and religions to compete in doing good deeds and to cooperate together not to be enemies.
Quran says (Meaning English Translation (95:48):
"And We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming that which preceded it of the Scripture and as a criterion over it. So judge between them by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their inclinations away from what has come to you of the truth. To each of you We (Allah or God) prescribed a law and a method. Had Allah willed, He would have made you one nation [united in one religion], but [He intended] to test you in what He has given you; so race to [all that is] good. To Allah is your return all together, and He will [then] inform you concerning that over which you used to differ. "
Also Quran says (49:13):
"O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted"

∙ 7y agoYes, it is good to have many diverse religions in one place, if only because this demonstrates a healthy society, free of the tensions so often associated with single-faith societies. You can not have many diverse religions in one place unless you have tolerance and accpetance of that diversity.
Show me a society in which Catholics, Protestants, Sunni and Shiite Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and others live side by side in harmony and equality, and you will have shown me the pinnacle of civilisation.
