It was unfair to pin all the blame on World War 1 on the Germans when Hungary and Austria were the real culprits for wanting to squelch the Serbians, Bosnians and Balkan peoples. Germany became involved when the Austrian Hungarian rulers asked for help in a war that had spread from the Balkans to France and Belgium (The Flanders and Ardenne forests) then to Turkey and around the globe. There were so many issues and countries fighting for so many reasons it got to be ridiculous. In the end the Serbians still did not get all the lands and respect they deserved. They were looked upon as trash. The entire war could have been avoided if the aristocratic rulers had given up their rule, let peoples have there own nations and self rule. The House of Hapsburg really was to blame. The Germans never even knew what all was involved when Austria Hungary asked for help. The Germans failed to get all the information. They would not have become involved had they known all the reasons for the war. Although it was unfortunate and unfair the Germans did do extreme damage and harm. They level many villages and towns. They used chemical warfare that did permanent damage to the people, even some of their own. If you think Hitler was the originator of concentration camps, extermination and murders think again. He learned all that from the Germans doing all that during World War 2. If you ever get a chance to watch Military Discovery or Military History channel's World War 1 shows you should see the atrocities the German's under the Kaiser did.

The Treaty may have been unfair but the Germans were unfair too.
