The only practical and cheap way to realize true fuel economy in the Jeep Liberty is to keep your speed below 70mph. I've been driving this vehicle for 5 years, and I've noticed an increase of at least 4-5mpg by keeping the speed on the highway below 70mph. This is not a fuel efficient vehicle, and its aerodynamics are about the same as a brick, so fuel mileage suffers accordingly.
