Most likely you have a Limited Slip Diff. I have a 98 GC and notice the same, additionally when backing up and turning the effect is more pronounced. MY GC is maintained religiously and I know there is nothing wrong with the drive train. I'd suggest that it's simply an effect of the Differential. In case you don't have a copy of the build sheet, you could take your VIN to a dealer and ask them to pull the build info (may be free or they may charge you). If your sheet indicates Limited Slip then you really have nothing to worry about.
it depends on what year and what transfer case you have usually there is a rod on the floor then you turn your front lock outs to lock on the inside of your wheels this works for most unless you have quadratrac then there is a nob in the glove box that turns( the quadratrac is all pneumatic so the air lines might possibly be cracked) there is also a lever on the driver side of the tunnel to switch from 4 high to 4 low
31/10.50/r15 will fit . but you might have to adjust the wheel stops out so they dont rub when you turn sharp
I doubt it I'm running 31's with stock wheels on my 98 jeep wrangler & they rub when I try to turn to sharp.

on a 4by4 the inside wheel turns at a different rate of the outer wheel you will feel this alot more on pavement versus snow or gravel
