If it was ran completely out of gas you need to just turn the key until you hear the fuel pump engage do this several times and then turn it over. The pump is just starved so you need prime it a bit
The first thing to check is that you are getting spark at the plug and if your not try changing the ballast resistor on the firewall, it's the white porceloin thing with wires running to it.
Check the crank sensor. I had a 98 cirrus that wouldn't start and that was the problem

No , if you start the engine than the oil and coolant will mix and it will also be in the oil filter

Disconnect your battery for a couple minutes to let the system reset. Should do the trick.
