If you are ADMITTED to a hospital and leave without a doctors discharge order and paperwork, it is considered AMA (against medical advice). In many cases, your insurance can refuse to pay your hospital bill. If it was an honest mistake, call and/or return to the hospital and get your discharge paperwork in order.
