location of orfice tube in a 1999 chevy malibu
On your 1999 Malibu the expansion (orifice) tube is located at the condenser to evaporator connection in the evaporator tube.
where does orfice tube go show diagram
It is inserted into the lower condensor tube at the quick connect
Assuming it's the same as the 98 astro van, it is located at the connection in the high-pressure line that runs vertically beside the dryer.
The 98 Blazer doesn't have a Thermal Expansion Valve... it has a fixed orifice tube.
I have been searching for the answer for a long time too, I found somewhere that the Orifice tube is "in the Inlet tube of the evaporator". My 98 Cherokee A/C is completely dead, wont hold any charge at all, going to be taking the whole thing apart in the next few weeks and will let you know where I find it.
pretty sure its in the condensor, it will always be at a fitting that has a steel line that has a crimp mark about three inches from fitting to keep tube in place
Passenger side fender, 2 tubes run feont to back. The high side is on top the low side is right under it. They both have foam on them. If you feel the low side it has 2sections of foam on it about 8" apart. If you squeeze it you will feel the connections inside the foam. This section is where your orifice tube will be.
wondering if 98 chevy malibu wheels will fit a 98 gmc sonoma?
It is located on the condenser in front of the radiator. Easy to access if you remove the grill and disconnect the high pressure line.
You will need to pull the front grill and it will be in the condenser where the liquid line connects to............
i just changed mine in my 98 3.1 if you remove the throdle body you can get to the bolts it is jery easy
in the high pressure line
