maybe your just low on anti freeze I would take i tto your mechanic to check it out because if there is an underlying problem it could cost you your engine
May I add:
If you're not losing fluid because of a faulty gasket or leak to the exterior, read the following:
Often an overlooked sensor (the Low Fluid Sensor in the Radiator Coolant Overflow Tank) is the culprit. If you are not continually losing coolant, it's safe to say that you don't have any form of leakage. Unlike the sensory switch located at the rear of the radiator, fixing an issue attributed to a clogged "Low Fluid Sensor" can be quick and painless.
You might not need to remove and clean this particular sensor --- simply repositioning and cleaning the sensor by GENTLY turning it back and forth a few times (while it remains in the reservoir tank) and making sure that the reservoir coolant level is correct will resolve the problem. If you find that the light stops coming on, you've isolated the issue. Now, drain the old antifreeze and replace the antifreeze with new antifreeze. Oh and while you're at it, remove and clean the interior of the coolant reservoir and remount it before you replace the antifreeze.
Done. Happy motoring.
Low coolant in coolant recovery tank or radiator or defective sensor
Sounds like the low coolant warning light Check the coolant level
the sensor is faulty. Located half way down the side of the radiator.
you are low on coolant.
Its a bad low coolant sensor. Common on these Chevy models.
The check gage light comes on if the engine coolant temperature is too high , the oil pressure is too low , or the gas gauge is at or near empty
Defective sensor? Usually in coolant recovery trank
Add coolant to the reservoir. If the low coolant light still stays on, replace the low coolant sensor.
If you are talking about the low coolant light then it is just low of coolant. Add coolant to the recovery tank. If you are talking about the coolant temperature light, then the engine is overheating. You may need to have the cooling system serviced. Drain the coolant and flush the system. Install a new thermostat, and add a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and distilled water.
If it is the low coolant light, it may mean your coolant is low. If it is not low, it may be the low coolant light sensor malfunctioning.
Reservoir light? You mean low coolant light. Low coolant level means the reservoir is low of coolant.
Coolant is low or a sensor malfunction.
