The illumination of the low oil pressure light on General Motors vehicle regards a serious condition that can potentially result in engine damage. One of the first steps in resolving this condition is immediately checking the dipstick engine oil level and observing for any evidence of leaks. If oil level is low it should be topped off, the engine restarted and observations made for any leaks again. The vehicle should be diagnosed by a qualified mechanic at soonest convenience.
Low oil pressure of a faulty oil pressure sending unit.
my battery light keeps coming on why is that, ive replace the battery and it still happening please help?
The check gage light comes on if the engine coolant temperature is too high , the oil pressure is too low , or the gas gauge is at or near empty
i think it is glass
If the light keeps coming on after the scanner reset then there is still a problem. Until the problem is fixed, (bad oil pressure switch, wiring, etc.) then the light will continue to be turned on.
Can be improper level.
You have an oil pressure problem, caused by any one (or more) of the following:Low OilBad oil pumpbad oil pressure switchclogged oil filterclogged oil passagespun bearingloose bearing (rod)blocked oil return passage
First, hook up an oil pressure gauge to check if the sender for the light is working properly. The light should come on when the pressure drops below 5PSI. If the light is on but the pressure is above 5PSI, replace the sending unit for the light. If the pressure is below 5PSI and you just replaced the oil pump your bearings are probably worn beyond limits and need to be replaced. This is a major project and you might consider just buying a remanufactured engine at this point.
check your oil pressure.... that's what that light is for. if oil pressure checks out the replace sensor
--------------------------------------- The "service stability system" light kept coming on periodically on my 2001 Aurora. A sensor needed replacing. I took it to a dealership and they took care of it. It wasn't expensive.
low oil pressure. faulty oil pump or plugged screen could cause that.
poke the bulb out with an ice pick.
