I think MBA from a very good institution is much better than MS, because MBA makes one get the administrative knowledge. Further more, it opens a vast area for getting a job in many companies, unlike MS.

The MBA is specific to business administration. The MS can be in a variety of areas. For example, engineering, health related programs of study, sciences, etc. The value of a degree is not always particular to a specific field, but how you use the knowledge after acquiring the degree. For example, there are many lawyers who are struggling to survive, while others have become millionaires. In addition, it's depends on your personal definition of valuable. Some see job satisfaction as more valuable than, position, or money. As such, you really should be thinking about a passion for what you really would like to do, and the benefit it brings others as well as yourself.

I do not understand your question as written. I have never been made aware of an MBA-MS, unless the MS stands for some type of specialty. The master's of business administration does have a number of specialties some of which are indicated below.

  • Health Care Management
  • Marketing
  • Communication
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Hospitality & Tourism
  • Human Resources (HR)
  • Accounting
  • Environmental Management
  • Information Systems
  • International Management
  • internet Marketing
  • Marketing
  • Operations Management
  • Human Resource Management

It's not that one is better than the other, it's just that they are different. A master's of science (MS) is a general degree category from which many specific programs of study (majors) fall. Some specific fields that can fall under the MS are engineering, computer science, allied health fields such as nursing, etc. The MBA is a master's in business administration, thus particular to that program of study.

It's not that one is more difficult than the other, it's just that they are different. A master's of science is a general degree category from which many programs of study (majors) fall. The MBA is a specific program of study particular to business administration. Although the MBA appears to be specific to business - by way of its title - the degree can be used in almost every type of career, especially for those individuals seeking executive and/or senior leadership positions.

It's not that one is better than the other; it's just that they are different. The question should be, "which one is best for me?" In order to determine that, you must first acquire a vision; a specific and clearly articulated picture of the future you intend to create for yourself. This vision should be based on a passion for what you want to do and the benefit it will bring to others as well as yourself. Once you acquire that vision, your path will become clear. That being said, read the below as to why individuals pursue the MBA.

The following was written by Wharton College Pennsylvania. This should help.

Why an MBA

The MBA is not an end in itself, but a means to an end. It is a degree designed to give you the ability to develop your career to its fullest potential, at an accelerated pace. What will you get out of an MBA? Aside from a powerful life experience, the MBA degree should supply three main value propositions: Skills, Networks, and Brand.

Skills

These include the "hard skills" of economics, finance, marketing, operations, management, and accounting, as well as the "soft skills " of leadership, teamwork, ethics, and communication that are so critical for effective management. MBA students acquire these skills inside and outside the classroom. Since MBA programs attract people from very diverse industries and cultures, a program should be able to leverage these differences and translate them into learning opportunities.

Networks

An MBA degree program offers access to a network of MBA students, alumni, faculty, and business and community leaders. This network can be very useful when beginning a job search, developing a career path, building business relationships in your current career, or pursuing expertise outside your current field. For example, entrepreneurs need access to capital, business partners, vendors, and clients. Arts-related businesses need access to funding and strategic management in order to position themselves to be relevant in the marketplace. Global businesses need access to local business cultures as they expand their enterprises to new territories.

Brand

The MBA degree is a recognized brand that signifies management and leadership training. The particular school and type of MBA program you attend also have brand associations that can help open doors based on the school's reputation. The strength of a school's brand is based on the program's history, its ability to provide students with technical skills and opportunities for personal growth, and the reach of its alumni and industry network. A powerful brand can give you the flexibility to make changes throughout your career.

It's not that one is better than the other, it's just that they mean two different things. A master of science is a general degree category from which many specific programs of study fall. For example, a master of science in engineering, or nursing, or Biology, etc. The MBA is a master's degree specific to business administration (master of business administration).

Is online schooling good for an MBA?

You can certainly get your MBA from an online school, but I believe it is much better to attend a physical school to get your MBA. You will look much better by going to a reputable school in your area when applying for jobs after you have your degree.
