Because of how the question is worded, the War of 1812 is the only war that would qualify. The Mexican War was fought almost entirely on Mexican soil, much of which became US territory after the war. The Texan Revolution was fought ten years before Texas became a US state. Both the American Revolution and the French and Indian War were fought before the US became a country. Other wars were fought on land claimed by the US, mostly against Native American forces, but these were not major.
