GFR played until 1977, then disbanded. Reformed with Dennis Bellinger in 1980,with Farner and Brewer. Original trio formed again in 1996-1999. In 2000 Farner wanted to go solo and left. Brewer and Schacher wanted to keep GFR going, and hired Carl, Kulick(Kiss), Cashion and later Frost. Farner fronts the Nr G Band and both groups continue to play GFR songs, but Farner cannot call himself Grand Funk Railroad, because Don and Mel own the rights to the name, although Mark still sits on the Board.
