Mercedes clk yesterday heater fan wont blow checked the fuse seems ok when switch on you can hear click noise under the bonnet?

I have a clicking as you describe on my CLK. I have also noticed the windscreen demister not so good. I have taken it to an independent mechanic who says this is a recognised fault and is due to a cog slipping on something in the heater. He tells me it is a main dealer job and is likely to be over £1000 !
