When the brakes are applied, the car's kinetic energy is converted to heat by friction between the brake pad and the brake disk.
It can be the turn signal switch. Two possibilities. one: there is a switch that when depressed turns on the light, it could be stuck. I haven't looked for one on this car. two: your brake is not fully releasing as cable has gotten rusty. Look under car and see if you can give it a yank and it releases.
it sounds to me that your hand brake is applied or stuck on.try releasing it or check the rear brakes.
put brake fluid in reservoir and loosen the bleeder screws. step on the brake with the motor running and tighten bleeders before releasing brake pedal. repeat as needed
sounds like your brake calipers could be sticking.after a short run feel your rim if it seems overly hot that's probaly what it is
