Do your throttle body linkages move when you press the accelerator pedel if not you may have a broken cable or if you have swaped engines the cable may not work properly. Does the engine rev when you manualy operate the throttle body also is your air flow meter hooked up as this will affect throttle as will other sensors so make sure all of these are connected
Why would you want to put one of the crappiest engines in a mr2 that v6 is only rated to about 190 hp for a v6 ?? Thats hella slow while the 3sgte, the turbo mr2 motor pushes about 220 stock and its a 2.0 liter !! 4 cylinder ! Swap that instead and its a plug and play swap
yes.
You have to have the computer for the throttle body carb and the fuel pump to match it good luck
It's possible, but not a bolt-on.
The 2001 Toyota MR2 typically comes with the 1.8L 1ZZ-FE engine. However, popular engine swap options include the 2ZZ-GE, a higher-performance variant that was also used in the Toyota Celica and Lotus Elise. Additionally, some enthusiasts opt for the turbocharged 3S-GTE engine from the Toyota Celica All-Trac and MR2 Turbo models for even greater performance. Always ensure compatibility with the transmission and other components when considering an engine swap.
To reduce the tick-over speed (idle speed) on a Toyota MR2, you can adjust the idle air control valve (IACV) or the throttle body. Start by locating the idle adjustment screw on the throttle body and turn it counterclockwise to lower the idle speed. Additionally, ensure that the engine is properly tuned and that there are no vacuum leaks, as these can affect idle performance. Always consult the vehicle's service manual for specific procedures and specifications related to your MR2 model.
To reduce the tickover speed on a Toyota MR2, you can adjust the idle speed screw, which is typically located on the throttle body. First, ensure the engine is warmed up, then turn the idle speed screw clockwise to decrease the idle RPM. It's essential to check the owner's manual for specific procedures and specifications for your MR2 model, as adjustments can vary. Additionally, ensure that the throttle cable is properly adjusted and there are no vacuum leaks affecting idle speed.
you dont get it out you just fix it
Yes But they have different plug ins on the throttle body so you will have to you will have to swap the throttle body also
The idle air control valve (IACV) on a 1986 Toyota MR2 is typically located on the throttle body assembly. It's mounted on the side of the throttle body, which is situated between the air intake and the intake manifold. To access it, you may need to remove the air intake duct and possibly some surrounding components for better visibility and access.
i dont think so
