Muslims were never aggressive in their wars. They are commanded by Quran and prophet Muhammad (PBUH) teachings not to kill any civilian, not to kill or rape a woman, not to kill the old, or a child, or to cut a tree. They are ordered to fight only who fight them. They never enslaved any conquered enemies but are always tolerant and forgiving. They believe, per Islam teachings, that no compulsion in religion; so they never forced people to convert to Islam.
