I have a 1999 Ford Taurus 24 valve 6 cylinder car that when it gets hot it starts sputtering and shuts off. Once cooled down car starts and runs till it gets hot again.
Thanks

Low coolant? Thermostat not opening?
Assuming that you aren't over-heating, check the fuel pump. My 1999 Taurus used to stall/ refuse to start when it was hot due to a faulty pump.
The cooling system helps keep the car from running too hot. A diagram for the 1998 Ford Taurus cooling system can be found in the car's maintenance or repair manual.
On a 2001 Ford Taurus : ( No ) it doesn't have FAIL - SAFE COOLING like some of the newer Ford vehicles may have
i have a 1999 ford escort zx2 and its running hot, changed out the thermostat thermostat cooling sensor, checked the fan and it works, the temperature gauge in side the car still showing hot, let thecar set over night and the gauge still shows hot, what else could be wrong
Probably because the ac needs to be recharged..
Friction.
Temp blend door malfunction.
I have a 1998 Ford Taurus with the check engine light on, i received a diagnostic code of 7441, which they indicated i needed transmission fluid, but when i checked in park, hot and idling it indicated full..how should i address this code
most likely it is a result of the emissons system. As the cat converter removed the harmful emissons, a few of the chemicls left are hydrogen and oxygen, mix these two and you get water.
check the thermostat
It will tell you on the stick, either "check hot" or "check cold", running or not.
