My 2001 dodge diesel truck seems to run fine but when you put it in drive its has ho power just idles when you push on gas pedal?

This engine is computer controlled.
The computer can decide to not give you any power, usually because the computer does not know you are stepping on the fuel.
Have the car scanned and repaired.
