My gf hooked the battery up backwards in her 1981 Chevy blazer and i hooked it up correctly and now it wont start it don't click or anything what could be the problem?

it could be the started is shorted out because of the battery being connected backwards

What do you mean it wont do anything... will the engine turn over... is the battery good... if the battery good and the engine wont turn over as if its not receiving power to the starter then it might be a bad starter or bad starter solenoid.

Other than resetting the ECU, disconnecting the battery should not cause the bad idle. You have reset the ECU and it may need some time and driving cycles to idle correctly. But I am doubtful this is the problem. I would suspect this is just a coincidence, and you have another problem.

You could have anything from an electrical problem to a fuel problem to a vacumn problem or any combination of the three. You need to either provide more information or take your 93 JGC in to a repair place for some diagnostics. At least you now know that you don't need a new battery.

this happened to me about a week ago. i guess its some kind of computer problem, i never really figured out why it did it, but I disconnected the battery (only the negative side) and left it that way for about 24 hrs and then when i reconnected the battery it started functioning correctly again.
