My hamster broke her leg and it looks like she has been chewing on it its getting all red and swollen and i dont have the money to take her to the vet what can i do?

Well what I did when I was in that state I woke my hamster up so she wouldn't be so active I put a appear towel around my hamsters leg and I would always watch her so she wouldn't chew it off I would give her some cucumber so when she tried to chew it I gave her that I also had to hand feed her and hold her water bottle but I wouldent let her on her wheel but I know it would cause her more pain but I earned enough money to bring her to the vet,the swelling when away and she stopped chewing and now my hamster is a ok but she did die at the age of 5 years but now I have a new one named s'more

The leg will just hang there and move very freely and they will drag that leg along when they walk. It would be swollen a little i am sure. But also if it was bitten by another hamster then it would be swollen and you would see some kind of teeth marks or blood. You can't really speed up the recovery that i know of a vet would know more hope this helped some
