Open up your Corolla hood. Locate the belt tensioner on the passenger side of the engine. There is a fake nut (casted in to the tensioner, note: do note turn the rel nut) that you use to release the tension on the belt.
Use a 19 mm socket and wrench on the fake nut and pull towards the front of the car to release the tension. You can use a long pipe over the wrench to increase your leverage making it easier to pull, keeping tension off the belt tensioner, take the serpentine belt off and re-route new one
The 2005 Nissan Altima auto tensioner pulley can be removed by removing the center bolt. You will need to hold the pulley stationary while you loosen the bolt.
what's the question? how to do it? specific to corolla or just serpentine belt in general? release tension on belt by: -put a socket/breaker bar or ratched on the tensioner pulley bolt and use it to relieve tension on the belt -slide belt off tensioner pulley. replace with new belt in same pattern across all pulleys and again relieve tension on the tensioner puller to slide the new belt back on --you may need to remove the bolt on the tensioner closest to the pulley (i don't know just judging by the picture i found) ---if you don't know what the tensioner looks like look up the part on autozone's website for a picture you can match on your car
Well my corolla need a new flow meter, new transmission oil and a belt tensioner, not sure which one fixed it though
You will need to remove the clyinder head to gain access to the tensioner and guide, they should then lift out Hope this helps Andy Do you remove the top cam chain sprocket or does tensioner come out another way
To remove the back seat of a 1998 Toyota Corolla, you will need to remove the carpet to expose the bolts for the seat. Then, loosen the bolts by removing the nuts. You can then remove the seat.
If the tensioner is sticking and not keeping pressure, then there could be a broken spring or a piece rubbing. The tensioner will likely need to be replaced. If it will not move enough to remove the belt then the belt will need to be cut off.
The type of the rear seat of the Toyota Corolla will determine how you will remove it. For instance, for a folding seat, all that you will need to do is to lower the seat to gain access.
to remove the tensioner first you need to remove the bracket that holds it. once you have removed the pulley bracket with the pulley still attached to it, 1 remove the retaining nut, and washers. 2 You will need to use a press to remove the bearing from the post.. 3 If you are replacing the bearings on the pulley you will need to remove the "C" clip retainer, and press the bearing out.
You need an 8mm hex socket and a 12mm socket. Remove the belt 14mm socket on the tensioner...Then remove the 8mm and 12 mmm bolts and it comes off
To remove the tensioner, you will have to remove the belt as well as unbolt the motor from the motor mounts and lift the engine. Be cautious to block up the engine before removing the mounts. The wheel well side cover and timing cover will also need to be removed. At this point you will have access to remove the tensioner.
well..............what are the codes?
the tensioner is spring loaded,be very careful. why do you need to loosen it. its all about leverage if you need to remove the belt use a 3/8in ratchet in square hole near bottom of tensioner
