in 92 caprice did not come with lt1 only corvette had lt1 in 92

Depending on what parts you need, just about any Caprice parts from a 1980-1990 would work on an 84, or an 80-85 Impala.
I will assume that the car is fuel injected/computer controlled carburetor. You will have to replace the intake, the carburetor and the distributor. These parts can be found at your local junk yard. Care should be taken when selecting these parts, that they are taken from a non-computer controlled chevy. If not available, these parts can be purchased from a performance parts dealer, i.e. eldelbrock, MSD.
If you know the battery and all connections are good, and hear a click when trying to start the car, then remove the starter and have it tested at any auto parts store.

Parts could be replaced on a machine without replacing the entire machine.
The internal hall effect switch could be bad or the module that is bolted to the side of the distributor. Most Advance auto parts stores can test the module for you.
Have you replaced the cam and/or crank sensor?
