Oil was at proper level then oil pressure dropped to 0 now it is about two quarts over full engine shut off a couple times but seems to run good what can cause this?

Doesn't sound good. You might want to drain the oil and see if it's just oil. Also, you might need to verify that the oil pump and pickup are in place.
