You have to turn the car off and turn it back on. This didn't work immediately for me, but I moved the car back and forth a little, and then it started. Just turning it on and off wasn't enough.
Try jiggling the steering wheel while turning the key. Sometimes if the steering wheel is in a bit of a bind, the key won't turn.

there is a small pin you can see through the plastic on the steering column in front of the ignition. you insert the key and push the pin to release the cylinder. you may need to remove wheel to get to it though.
