Are you sure the battery was dead? Have you checked it? You can check your battery and your alternator at AutoZone or Checker also I believe.
If your battery is dead and you replace it, if the light is still on, it is the alternator. Take it off and check it, and if it is, replace it. I had to do the same thing.
Make sure you return the old alternator to get some money back for the core.
Also, make sure you connect all the cables on the alternator, because if you forget to connect the tiny cable (not the red one that charges the battery, but the other one that controls everything from the alternator) the battery won't be charged.
Make sure you check everything first, hope this helps and good luck, it sounds worse then it is.
My 1993 Chevy lumina did the same thing i ended up having to get a new battery it turns out my factory radio was the problem : - )
If your engine is running , and the battery light comes on , that indicates that your battery is not being charged
The battery light stays on when the alternator is over or under charging.
did you check the alternator??
The battery light stays on when the alternator is over or under charging. The red brake light stays on when the parking brake is set or the fluid is low. The abs light stays on when the abs computer detects a malfunction and sets a code.
Your battery has low voltage and needs recharged, check for loose battery cables, if the light stays on have your alternator checked.
why das my interior light stay on and run the battery down.
If it stays on all the time it will drain the battery
Probably loose drivebelt. or alternator belt of it is seperate.
yes but you shouldn't if alternator is not charging battery is bound to go dead and you will get stranded somewhere.
When this light stays on, it is telling you the system is not charging. Possible bad alternator, battery, or loose or disconnected wire.
changed battery engine light stays on
