The temperature sending unit for this truck is located in the cylinder head on the right hand side at the very back (right behind the exhaust outlet for #6 cylinder)...... you out ...........

The 1994 Chevy 454 cubic inch big block engine temperature sensor is located on the front of the engine. The engine temperature sensor will be a few inches above the thermostat housing.
The operating temperature range, for your 1976 Cadillac Eldorado 500 cubic inch engine, is 180 degrees to 195 degrees. 180 degrees is the recommended temperature.
