Did you check the little wheel that turns the dash lights up and down to make sure it isn't turned all the way down. On a 97 civic it's to the left of the steering wheel and on the dash.
Usually it's just a fuse but if you have just had a stereo installed there's an illumination wire that is hooked up incorrectly or if only those are malfunctioning than there are some wire on the back of the gage cluster that are ealy touched/unhooked but I had this problem before and it was the stereo.
The bulb is probably dead or you have a blown fuse or other electrical problem.
I'll check for a blown fuse(fuse relay box), ground problem, and your bulb.
well if your head lights and tail lights are still working then its your dimmer switch that has gone bad and needs to be replaced. i just recently had this problem and was fixed with a 10 replacement off ebay.
If the dash lights of a 1993 Honda Civic do not work than there is most likely a problem with the dash fuse. When it blows all the gauges will cease to function.
Check fuse panel for blown fuse.
Some bulbs may be burned out, or a blown fuse or the dash light dimmer/brightness control switch is turned off.
Check the fuse. On some hondas the horn and brake lights are on the same circuit. See if you have brake lights...if not, fuse for sure.
If you already checked your bulbs then check your fuses, usually this is the case when all the lights stop working at the same time.
Check bulbs, fuse, bad ground, brake light switch.
how do you get to and change the front parking lights on a 1991 civic hatchback si?
Are any of them working on either side? If so turn on and off lights and turn on and off signals and press brake pedal to find the positions of the sockets on the working lights. For more information on bulbs, see sources and related links below.
