if it runs sluggishly and dies when you "punch" it - like to get out in front of traffic, good chance it's the timing belt. Hyundai uses a "toothed" belt for timing and not a chain as in alot of other vehicles. the timing belt controls the rate at which the pistons fire in conjunction with the fuel injection. not sure the cost to replace it but not an easy task as all the belts and possibly the water pump needs to come off to accomplish this. car should run almost like new when done though..............
