You could start the engine , turn your heater to hot and the fan speed to max , and
then feel the heater hoses ( without catching your hands / clothing in any moving
parts ) As the engine warms up , the inlet hose to your heater core will be hotter than
the outlet hose with the heat going into the passenger area
just splice the two heater hoses that go through to the heater core the together
No, it is not required. You can remove it and splice the heater hoses together.
To bypass the heater corer in a Chevy Cavalier, disconnect the heater core hoses at the firewall. using a hose splice available at an auto parts, slide the hoses on the ends of the splice. tighten the hose clamps down. Check the coolant level in case it is low due to losing any during the procedure. Wash the ground thoroughly because any coolant left is toxic to animals.
One splice that would work is a western splice.
The long splice, the short splice, the end splice, and the eye splice are probably the most commonly used types.
splice is supuraisu
A short splice will nearly double the diameter of the material, but will be shorter in length and not as strong as a long splice.
You just disconnect both heater hoses at the firewall in the engine compartment and connect them together with a 5/8 inch hose splice. You just disconnect both heater hoses at the firewall in the engine compartment and connect them together with a 5/8 inch hose splice. I am getting ready to do the same because it looks like the dealer is the only one that you can get a 1998 heater core from for $315.00. When I have more time to pull it out I am going to take it to the auto parts store where I can get a 1997 heater core for $65.00 and compare them, it may work or maybe I will have to make a few modifications to use it???
Hell yeah Yep there will definitely be a splice 2 because of the ending of the first splice and also because I have been searching the net and splice 1 was not supposed to have a sequel but after the ratings of splice 1 the creator of splice 1 has decided to make a splice 2 the rebirth.
Cut the hoses close to the firewall and loop them together using a flush valve or other splice connector that can handle heat.
Splice was released on 06/04/2010.
The Production Budget for Splice was $30,000,000.
