One should come on anytime the A/C is on. The other comes on in response to a thermal relay that detects the engine is getting too hot. First thing is to check the fuses for the fan motors. Secondly, check the electrical connections to see if they are tight and not corroded. Thirdly, apply 12 volts to the fan that is not working. If it comes on it is good. If not the fan motor is bad, replace it. If it comes on find the thermal relay and replace it at that is your problem.
Unscrew the bolts that connect the fans 2 the radiator then unplug the plugs and it should come out..
the temperature sencer tell your fans to turn on when the coolant in your radiator gets to hot
if you look at the radiator then follow the black hose at the top it'll be right below where it connects to the rest of the engine. That's where it makes sure the fans turn on when it gets too hot.
Check the thermal relay for the cooling fans.
it's bolted to a bracket in front of the motor, between the motor and the fans, slightly to the left.
because i don't own one
yes, annoyingly ! solution should be comprehended in a recall
One fan only comes on when the A/C is activated and runs continuously as long as the A/C is on. The other fan only comes on when needed to cool the engine down as in city driving.
There is a temperature switch on the passenger side bottom of the radiator that has a wire connector attached to it. The switch screws into the radiator and then the wires connect to that. That switch is what tells the relays to turn the cooling fan on. If your fans don't turn and the engine is running hot you can test the switch using the following steps. 1. turn the ignition to the on position but don't start the engine. 2. disconnect the wire connector to the switch on the bottom of the radiator. 3. using a small jumper wire, jump the two wires inside the connector. If the fans turn on then you will need to replace the temp switch. If the fans still don't turn on then you will need to check the fuses, relays, and the fans themselves.
id have to look to see why but what you can do is get new fans and hook it up to a toggle switch. when you hook the toggle switch up just flip the switch before it gets too hot
Yes One is called a "Radiator fan" and the other a "Condenser fan." The Radiator fan comes on when the engine coolant temperature is above 106C (223F). The Condenser fan comes on when you activate the Air Conditioning.
Honda's and in fact many cars with transverse mounted engines have electric fans to draw air across the radiator. When the radiator is hot the fan turns on until the temp drops. It's normal unless the fan stays on for a long time.
