The Old Testament or covenant was the agreement between Abraham and his descendants, the Israelites. It the old testament there is a prophecy that determines a new covenant would be made with the nation of Israel. This occured with the advent of Jesus the son of God. Though rejected by most of the remainder of the Israelites that existed in Christ's day, yet some believed and was the receipents of the New Testament Christ gave them. Under the old testament the people live by the Law of Moses. Under the new testament given by Christ believers live by faith through grace, the unmerited favor of God. Jesus fulfilled the law to the last letter, freeing us from the written letter and for the believer, being written in the fleshly tables of the heart.
