When does the timing belt need changing on a 1994 Peugeot 106 1.5 XND?

Normally 80,000 to 100,000 miles. The owners manual will have this info. If it is an interference engine, failure to replace the belt at the prescribed time can result in severe engine damage. If you have no owners manual, call the dealer.

Why would a Peugeot 306 XND need lots of Easy Start sprayed into the air intake if you haven't started it for more than a couple of hours?

SOUNDS LIKE THE GLOW PLUGS ARE ON THEIR WAY OUT. OLLY Diesel engines do seem to get addicted to Easy start, be careful.

Changing the clutch cable on peugeot 106 xnd?

It's easy.first you lift the bonnet and disconnect the clutch cable from the lever and tie apiece of string to the end of it. Go to the clutch peddle and unhook the cable and gently pull it through. now you attach the new cable to the end of the string and gently pull it back through good luck roy

How do you change the gear linkage on a peugeot 106 xnd 1996?

simply get a spanner or something that fits over the linkage and force the old ones off and the new ones simply push on, although getting the old ones off sometimes can be a nightmare. you can't put the new ones on in the wrong place, they will only reach to certain balls on the gearbox selector.

How do you change the clutch on a 1994 Peugeot 106 XND?

This is a BIG job. I sugest taking it to a garage inless you have a lift and special tools. Clutch change is graded three spanners by Haynes difficult but not impossible - since you ask the question here I guess that means you don't even have a Haynes manual so probably are best taking it to a garage. Peugeot estimate 4 hours for gearbox removal and refitting - make that 8-12 for the average DIY mechanic doing it for the first(hopefully only) time. Try a clutch clinic. Given the age of the car is it worth it?

Your peugeot 306 xnd headlights work on full beam the low beam will not work the fuses and lamps are ok and the dashboard light says the low beam is on and it isn't any ideas anyone?

If the low beams are not working on a Peugeot 306, it is possible that the low beam headlights are burned out. If the high beam headlamps are part of the same bulb, perhaps the wrong bulbs are in the sockets. Some older cars have both the high and low beams running off the same bulb and the low beam can burn out both sides at the same time.

Cigarette lighter fitting 106?

Pull out old one, insert new one. You may wish to install roll bars incase it has hazardous side effects. For a 106 without a cigarette lighter, its reasonably easy to fit one. Local car parts supplier had a lighter for less than £3. All the wiring required to fit the new lighter is behind the centre panel of the dashboard unfortunatly this means you have to remove the radio first which is a pain and requires more brute force than technique. The spare wires is retained in a plastic clip to stop the wire moving and shorting any other connections out. (at least they were on my '94 XND model have read other people having found the wires easily also)

Peugeot 306 heater problem wont work?

The 306 XNd often ends up with a blocked heater matrix. (I drove through last winter in sub zero temperatures, windows down, and fans on full) You could try removing the coolant pipes where they connect to it in the engine bay, in front of the driver's side and try hooking up your garden hose to attempt a flush. If you need to replace the matrix, it appears to be fairly cheap, (sub £30 if memory serves), but you are talking about steering wheel and dashboard out to replace it. This should only be attempted by you if you are competent and methodic at such procedures. Expect to take a day or two to complete the work properly. You COULD buy one of those 200 watt heaters which you can mount on the dash, but DON'T turn it on full whang on a freezing cold day, directly at the windscreen if you want to keep the screen in one piece. (I enquired in Halfords, who used to sell them and was told that this is one reason why they stopped stocking them)Good Luck,Lance T.
