2005 4runners have the Aisin A750 ( five speed auto) transmission. It has no dipstick. The manufacturer recommends changing the fluid ( Type WS) only after 100,000 miles.
If you don't have leaks and you haven't been trailering with the Transmission over-heat light on you don't need to think about it.
there is a fill plug on the passenger side rear of the transmission, toward the top. its a 15/16" hex. there is no dipstick. you can find the refill procedure in the sequoia section under "how do you refill transmission fluid in a 2005 seqouia" the transmission and the procedure are the same.
