Flush the transmission at your earliest opportunity. Motor oil probably won't do a lot of damage in the short term but oil makes things slippery that oughtn't be slippery...and slipping makes heat. Automatic transmissions don't like heat.
Note: simply dropping the pan and draining what's in the pan is not sufficient. You've got maybe a gallon hanging out in your torque converter and transmission cooler lines that needs to get changed out, too. Change your filter while you're at it.

You failed to mention what fluid you accidentally put in. In any case, have the transmission fluid flushed out and replaced with the proper ATF right away.
