Recently bought a Zara Ellwood painting and want to know more about the artist and find out if this painting is worth anything you bought the paing from an old man that collects garbage in man?

I too own an Zara Ellwood piece. They seem to be being sold from anywhere from $500 - $5000, depending on the size, condition, and quality of the piece. Luckily, for me, I just so happen to own the holy grail of Zara's work, it's called 'The Two Birds,' and it's magnificent. She painted back in the 1930's and 1940's here in New York I've been told by an antique dealer I met. Her work is considered 'antique,' and is collectible. I was close to selling mines recently, until I came across someone else selling one of her pices for $5000, out in Ohio (check Craigslist to see the ad). Hope I've helped you!
