Your question is unclear. The adjusting mechanism release and lock is located on the underside of the left side of the steering column about 8-10 inches down the column from the direction signal stalk. Loosen to adjust - tighten to lock. If the mechanism is broken you must take it to a dealer to have it repaired or replaced. This is NOT a do-it-yourself project!

Lift the upper shroud from the column and unclip it from the bottom of the instrument panel. Depress the plastic tab at the top of the switch with a screwdriver.
