- As long as you have good communication skills with this married man then I can see his point. Divorce on children is extremely difficult and he wants to give his daughter time to adjust to the separation from his wife and her mother as children often hope with all their might that their parents will get back together again. A smart move on your part would be to get to know his daughter on a friendly basis and not show any affection to her father while she is around. This way she gets to know you and you will do the same and when the time comes the transmission of you marrying her father may go much smoother. However, if this married man does not want you to see his daughter then that is a good sign he may not have marriage on his mind in the future with you. Both of you need to sit down and communicate each others feelings and then you will know for sure what you should do.
