Here's the opinion expressed by Timberwoof in his Motorcycle FAQ: "The Air Force never lets some guy fresh out of ground school fly an F-16. He has to fly gliders, Cessnas and T-38s for a while first. What makes you think you'll be able to handle a sportbikelet alone get safely near its limitswithout prior experience on a machine more suitable for a beginner? If you're young, meaning under about 28, your insurance for a sportbike will be very expensive. Spend your money on track schools; that will teach you to wring every ounce of performance out of a bike. Then, with a few years of experience under your belt, get that Yamasukida CZX600fx4ii. You'll appreciate it all the more."
A new rider can handle a sport bike, but s/he needs to be carefull. There are several sport bikes that a new rider is capable of controling. The best new bike off the show room floor for a new rider is Yamaha's yzf600r. It is considered a sport touring bike now I believe but has plenty of pure sport to it. Good used sport bikes for new riders are the Yamaha fzr600, fzr400, Suzuki Katana, Older Honda CBR's (f1, f2, Maybe f3). The most important thing to to ride with respect for your machine. A handfull of throtle on a sport bike will get you into a 100 MPH world of hurt very quickly, but they are arguably the most exciting bikes available, so just ride carefully, take a class, and keep the rubber side down.
It depends on the person. I am 19 and my first bike was a sport bike. I bought my bike when I was 18. But I knew I could handle it because I had raced Motocross. As I tell all my friends... Learn in the dirt, it doesn't hurt as much! If you learn how to ride a dirt bike or a four-wheeler before you get a street bike, you learn leaning, balance, and clutch control. Get what you feel comfortable with. Just remember. Speed is addicting, tickets are expensive!
AnwserIf you know how to work a clutch well, and you have self control start, with something in the 600cc range. it'll last you a while and there plenty fast.
If you believe in yourself, try it first.Or you buy a gas scooter as the second.

You do not have to own a motorcycle to get a licence, but you will need to borrow a bike to take the road test unless you buy one in the meantime. Not only do you not need to own a motorcycle, but depending on where you live, you may be required to test and ride on a motorcycle provided for you for testing in a rider education course. Some states do not offer an option for testing on a personally owned or even borrowed motorcycle. A rider may be required to use course provided motorcycles only.
yes he should
It all depends how much you plan to ride the bike. Most State laws require the rider to obtain the Insurance. For more information and resources on Motorcycle Insurance, check out http://www.findinsurance.us/motorcycle/motorcycle-home.html
Not unless you intend to modify.
Friends and family of a rider, buy a bell and give them as a gift. The rider tries to hang the bell from his motorcycle as close to the road as possible but out of harms way. It is believed the bell scares away gremlins that would sabotage the riders bike. It's just a good luck charm. A rider isn't supposed to buy their own bell but receive it from a fellow rider (is best) or friends and family.
only if you think you can handle one, and are okey with the risks that it involves.
