Some may argue that it should be. It is your life and you should be able to control it.
But some may argue against it, often for religious reason.
It's down to what you believe.
In many countries, doctors take an oath, such as, the Hippocratic oath once they completed medical school. This statement includes the phrase that the doctor should "do no harm".

Just want to add something about Do No Harm. What does that mean? Does it mean to extend someone life at whatever the cost in term of financial, emotional, physical pain, ect. If the ultimate definition of harm is death, then sure, suicide should not be assisted by physicians. However, we all know that death is inevitable. Do you want to die your way or drag on and on?

No, suicide can not be legal issue with or without physician because it can open up a new way of killing. There had been many ways of killing like snake chambers , wolves and many others like forcing the poisoned drinks. No such example exist in my research on decryption of Matured Harappan Scripts 1900-1300 BC Indus Civilization in South Asia during last 30 years from creation of universe to this date. If some one has an example in history , please quote it though it can not be valid under modern environments of global village.
No it shouldn't
NO it should not be legalized because people might abuse it. also maybe the person wants to live so the doctors can't just kill them that is wrong. even if a person is almost dying doctors should at least try to find a cure to it so that they can save other people with the same problem. physicians have no right to 'pull the plug' cause maybe they are wrong about the estimations how much time a patient has left, causing unnecessary deaths. plus it is another form of homicide
i think this idea of legalizing is completely wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
~but in some countries if you try to attempt any kind of suicide you get arrested and then they sentence you to the punishment of death so it's kinda pointless anyway/and plus if a person wants to die because they are in pain they should be able to leave of their own free will and not have to struggle for that kind of freedom from the pain and if the family doesn't what them to die and makes it so that they can't their just being selfish
It should not be illegal,A person has the right to end their life when ever they decide to do so,If they are of sound mind and suffering in pain ect ect and are physically unable to commit the act themselves or unsure if the method they chose would be sufficiant they should be allowed to have assistance..It must be the persons own choice and not the choice of doctors.lawyers ect ect.
It is immoral for any god to willfully inflict long term suffering, pain, indignity and terminal debilitating diseases on people in the first place.
It is cruel and torturous for family and friends to want to keep a loved one living in pain, anguish, sorrow, ect for their own personal selfishness when said loved one wants to end their life and escape the pain, suffering and/or poor quality of their life..
Suicide is not illegal,no one has ever been punished by law for committing suicide in the USA,therefore assisting someone with their suicide should not be illegal either.
After having dying patients beg for us, the staff, to end it I would say yes. When the patient get help to set it up and then take their own life after being evaluated by psychological professionals it should be allowed. We all deserve to die with dignity.Often suffering is not a life with quality, it's just survival.
Yes. No-one chooses to be born but can control if they die.
Suicide is NOT wrong. Don't listen to religious morons.
yes you can be put in a mental hospital
no it is classed as murder you pyschopath
You should receive 4 years for assisted that's what I would say. In the UK assisted suicide is against the law, but in recent years nobody has been prosecuted for it, even in high-profile instances. In Switzerland, assisted suicide is legal.
There is nothing in the United States Constitution about assisted suicide. It is up to the states to make assisted suicide legal or illegal. This is shown by 3 states legalizing assisted suicide while the others hold on to laws making it illegal
Assisted suicide is when the person who is committing suicide is assisted by another person, who will provide the implements of the suicide and/or instructions, and who knows that the person is about to commit suicide. Normally the suicide patient will follow instructions, which will induce his death.
Assisted suicide is legal in Oregon, Washington, and Montana.
Active euthanasia should not be legalized anywhere, however physician assisted suicide should be
if someone would like to suicide just go and and get your self a morphine or throw your self from a cliff or something
Assisted suicide means that someone is helping someone commit suicide. Therefore it's any of the usual ways to commit suicide, just with someone helping.
Strato
Oregon permits physician assisted suicide.
No.
