This is one of those questions that can very quickly lead to a heated discussion between people. But to answer the question, it's both a Yes and a No.
Yes:
- It's inhumane to be breeding chickens that grow so fast they can't walk
- Most broilers raised in a commercial production farm are overcrowded and the Death Rate is a bit high, higher than those who raise free-range chickens.
No:
- people love their chicken, and really like meat from chicken that is tender and juicy
- more meat on a chicken means more people will eat it, and with a growing population, demand for chicken increases as population increases.
