Why you take the conjugate of current in complex power?

In order to calculate the complex power of a circuit, the conjugate of current is used. The Vrms of the circuit is multiplied by the complex conjugate of the total circuit current.

How tall are the power lines in Ontario?

An ammeter is a measuring instrument used to measure the electric current in a circuit. Electric currents are measured in amperes (A), hence the name

Power consumed is measured in amperes?

Power consumption is measured in many different ways.Power is usually measured in WattsVoltage usually in VoltsResistance in Ohmsand Current (or flow rate) in AmpsGoogle for "Ohms Law"AnswerYou do not 'consume' power. Power is the rate at which work is done.

What is power factor of resistor?

A resistor doesn't have a power factor. However, if a circuit is pure resistance in nature the power factor will be one when a voltage is applied and a current flows in the circuit. The power factor is a measure of the relative phases of the current and voltage in a circuit.

Why should the secondary of a power transformer not to be left on an open circuit?

In general there is no reason why it should not be, though there may be special situations. Perhaps there is confusion with CURRENT transformers which must not be left open circuit because of the high voltages which they will produce. it may trip the CB. although there is no faults but a high current called Inrush current is flow when the the power transfomer energized while its secondry circuit is open

How is current measured in a series circuit?

Current is measured in a series circuit by the use of a multimeter. First, the power source must be attached to the circuit board. The board is attached to the multimeter, then that is attached back to the power source.AnswerCurrent is measured either with an ammeter, or with a multimeter set to measure current. The instrument must be connected in series with the other components in the circuit.

How is a parallel circuit the same as a series circuit?

In both cases, the power dissipated is measured by multiplying the voltage across the circuit by the current through the circuit.

Is a series circuit the same as a parallel circuit?

Determine the power dissipated if the voltage supplied to a circuit is 12V and the current measured is 3A?

The power dissipated by a circuit with a voltage of 12V and a current of 3A is 36W. Watts is Volts times Amps.

Which term does not represent electric power in a circuit?

There are many terms that do not represent electric power in a circuit, such as cauliflower, aeroplane and rabbit.Electric power in a circuit is measured in watts (W).

What are the approximation of open circuit and short circuit test of transformer?

A short-circuit test is done to determine the power lost in the resistance of the primary and secondary windings of the transformer. It is done at full load current but with only enough voltage to give the required current with the secondary short circuited. An open-circuit test is done at full load voltage but no current is taken from the secondary, and this enables the power lost in the magnetic core of the transformer to be measured. As well a power, the tests also allow the inductances to be measured as well as the resistances, in order ot characterise the transformer fully.

How powerful are ohms?

Ohms do not relate to power per se. Ohms do however contribute how much power a circuit can deliver. In a given circuit the lower the resistance (measured in ohms) the higher the current & higher the power. This is assuming the voltage remains constant.

Power in a circuit can be measured using a?

By definition, a wattmeter.

What is an equation for power?

Power = (energy used)/(time to use it)Power dissipated by an electrical circuit =(voltage across the circuit) x (current through the circuit)or(resistance of the circuit) x (square of the current through the circuit)or(square of the voltage across the circuit)/(resistance of the circuit)

How do you measure current without an amp meter?

Depends on the current. Put a resistor in-line with the current, then measure the voltage across the resistor. V=RI. So, divide the measured voltage by resistor value. Be careful with the size of the resistor, as Power dissipated in a resistor is R*I^2 or V^2/2. So, a 1-Amp current into a 1 Ohm resistor will result in a 1Watt power dissipated in the resistor. If it's too small, it'll burn. Also, notice that if you do that, you haven't measured the current in the original circuit. You've measured the current when an extra resistor is installed in the original circuit, and that's different.
