It depends on the breed standards for your country, most dairy and miniature breeds are dehorned but meat and fibre breeds are left with their horns. Any animal that you are showing that has horns needs to be well trained so that it doesn't hurt anyone with its horns.

Why to some goats have horns?

Defense Defense is only one use of a goat's horns. This also applies to sheep. Their horns have blood vessels running through them, and the horns help to regulate and cool the blood's temperature, especially on hot days. It is much like a dog panting or us sweating. Having their horns is very important. Many goats (and sheep) are hornless. This is because they were disbudded (horns were surgically removed) or they are polled (horns didn't grow in due to breeding for that purpose). Disbudding is painful and should be done by a qualified veterinarian only, as unexpected side effects can occur (especially infection). Polled attributes can result in other mutations in babies, although they are rare.

Why do goats butt heads?

Do goats like baths?

DEFINITELY NOT! They hate to be wet. A well housed goat should never need a bath, unless it is a show animal-County Fair, or sanctioned show, that is. Occasionally lice become a problem, but a bath still is not required, unles the owner requires it.

Do goats calm horses?

yes goats can help calm horses, pretty much any farm type animal will calm a horse, you just have to be careful they may chew the horses tail up to where they cant reach anymore, so i dont suggest putting a goat with a show horse. goats and horses can be great companions, and the goats breaks the cycle of worms that attack horses. These worms don't do anything to the goat.

They are quite a popular breed of milking goats. Lots of people show them. Their udders can grow huge and most people dehorn them. They are very useful goats.Nubian: These are very pretty goats and what is easy to tell them apart from other milking goats is that they have big, long, floppy ears. You can have them with horns if they are gentle, but it is best to have them dehorned. You can also milk litres from them, even though they are smaller than other milking goats.
