Using humor at school is an art in itself. Especially if it is used to advance education and learning. Real humor is more than fart jokes in the locker room. It is using a pun in a literature class, or making up a new oxymoron. Most people related to humor in some of its lower forms and styles. Nothing wrong with this except higher forms of humor get over looked and forgotten.

This is the mark of a trueteacher. Unfortunately, some have sacrificed their marriages, family, and health. I wonder how many realize this fact. We are at risk of losing the cream of the crop of teachers unless something changes. Although some may disagree, I do not believe the stress or the problems are the fault or result of the students. The demands upon the teacher are great within the classroom, after work hours, and on week-ends. It is consuming, and these teachers are conflicted with the additional demands that take time away from planning/preparing for teaching, rather reaching students.
